Organisations that want to support IHI in a specific area of research (but are not members of IHI’s industry partners) can apply to become IHI contributing partners. As the name suggests, contributing partners invest their own resources (which can be researchers’ time, laboratories, data) or cash in a specific IHI project or projects. Their contributions work in a similar way to contributions by industry partners.

During this webinar, IHI Legal Officer Karolina Gutt-Mostowy and IHI Financial Officer Gaëlle Lanckmans provided comprehensive and practical information on the IHI contributing partners scheme, including:

• Who can become a contributing partner
• Benefits of being an IHI contributing partner
• How to apply to become an IHI contributing partner including practical tips
• What kinds of contributions are eligible
• Legal aspects – contractual obligations, financial rules etc. that apply to contributing partners
• Common mistakes in applications

The webinar was primarily for current contributing partners; organisations applying to be contributing partners under current IHI calls for proposals; and organisations who may be interested in becoming contributing partners in future calls.

We also encourage coordinators of projects and applicant consortia involving contributing partners to watch the webinar, as they need to understand the rules on contributing partners during both the application and project reporting phases.
